Warning for people who are registered with this vets: Me and my partner registered our cat at this vets. We was paying for a monthly pet plan. When we have visited they never looked over our cat properly even tho we are paying for it. We also get 0 discount when it comes to medicine. After a few months of not visiting we had to re-visit this vets as our cat had cut his toe open first problem was, being gentle didn’t exist when it came to cleaning his paw. They proscribed us medicine/antibiotics. We went to the counter and they had charged us £111 which is absolutely shocking considering we pay for a monthly pet plan, anyway we payed for the medicine. Then we come to realise online you could get the exact same medicine for 46p for 5 packets…. They are money grabbers. Thats a nice way of putting it.

My cat had a cut in between his paws and we were charged £111 for antibiotics. Obviously shocked by the price I looked around to find the same antibiotics and realised they were sold for 46p if you could provide a prescription. Lesson learned, shop around for your pets treatment before throwing your money at your vets.

I have used Tilehurst vets for years for my chiwawia. One thing has become apparent after my dog needs x-rays. He has a heart mumor, so there no insurance, which is fine. I put some money away every month just in case. So my Benni needed x-rays due to pain around the hip region, and a toe nail was removed. The price I was quoted was £950 for sedation and x-rays. A further £250 for toe nail removal. Total £1200. So naturally, I shopped around. I need to get to make little Benni medical fund cover as much as he needs. I found a company called Pet Klinic based in Woodley. Pet kinic quoted me £550 for x-rays toe nail removal medication and a follow-up consultation. The xrays showed he had kidney stones, so they wanted a urine sample done to proceed further. I returned to Tilehurst Vets and said he had the x-ray done now. He needed a urine sample test. They quoted me £65 for the test and a further consultation fee of £60. Total £120. Pet Klinic in Woodley quoted £35 for the urine test and the follow-up consultation. I find myself having no choice but to use Pets Klinic over Tilehurst Vets due to extreme differences in prices. Just thought I'd let others know if they are stressed and worried about having enough money to cover your vet bills. If you shop around, you will probably save at least 50% of treating your pet. I will continue to use Tilehurst vets clinic where I can due to it being round the corning and the staff are nice. But should I need any tests or medication, I may find myself going back to Pet Klinic in Woodley due to the savings being so much.

Wonderful staff throughout. Went above and beyond to provide comfort to our Charlie Boy in his last hour and gave us all the support and more needed. Some will say part of the job but to me everyone that was involved with us was more than respectful to us and Charlie in our hour of need. Thank you for providing the care we needed and placing our boy to rest peacefully.

Recently kenneled my guineas here and provided (as asked) enough food for 2 meals plus hay. Salad leaf bag was returned still sealed as I purchased it (it may have been 'offered to them' but guineas cannot open sealed bags), coriander returned still bunched as purchased, most of hay returned obviously unused - guineas pee & poop in hay. I had asked (verbally and written) that all of it be given so they could sleep in it and munch it. Carrot & pepper mix returned 3/4 full- despite instructions (written & verbal) to feed half of each food per meal and give all hay as they will munch it. I will no longer be leaving any of my animals there due to the reaction my feedback received, shame after over 20 years. The reply I received implied I was a liar. My friends who picked me up (and me!) know different. A successful eye removal (guinea pig) by Erin and great follow up care by Becky this year. Lovely receptionists as always.
